This full brogue model is made according to the Goodyear method. For this traditional and labour-intensive way of making shoes, the sole is built up piece by piece under the shoe without using any prefabricated materials. Goodyear-made shoes are sturdy, have a waterproof connection between sole and upper, can be repaired in a high-quality manner and, above all, have lots of character. In other words, Goodyear is the making method a shoemaker chooses for his own dressy shoes. The sole has a cobalt blue outsole made of durable TPU. The shoe comes with premium calf leather lining. This pair is made on a last with an H-width. Thus, the shoe has a slightly wider fit range which is suitable for a slightly wider foot. The dark congnac calf leather has been dyed by hand in our production facility using a fine sponge and stain. This labour-intensive treatment gives the leather, seams, and decorative stitching an authentic hand-dyed look.

Producing shoes... we really love it here.

Floris about this item:

These shoes are made according the Goodyear production method. We cannot add more craftsmanship! Each part is customised by hand in our factory here in Moergestel. You will come across poetic professional jargon, such as patching, spraining, side licking, cutting and 'sloping'. It makes my cobbler’s heart beat faster... We have made shoes this way for centuries. Initially completely by hand and after the industrial revolution with the help of machines. At the end of the production process the side of the sole is given the right colour with a brush dipped in stain. Without spilling! That tray with stain is placed about 30 metres from the desk where I am typing on now. Producing shoes... we really love it here.
