Product details

This is one of those typical ‘easy going’ summer shoes. The rubber sole is nice and supple and offers enough traction on slippery or wet surfaces. On the back of the heel, a rubber layer is placed under the suede with 6 rubber squares poking out from the suede. The side is finished with a small blue rubber flag label sporting a white ‘F’ stitched underneath the piping. The loafer has top-quality calf leather lining and sports a nice and comfortable removable footbed. The dark blue suede hails from a specialised suede tannery in Tuscany.

What's my size?

For men’s shoes, Floris van Bommel uses the English (UK) shoe size system in whole and half sizes (5 to 13½). This allows for a very accurate fitting range. The two tables below show how the UK sizes relate to EU sizes and centimetres. In the video, we show you how to measure your feet correctly.

"No matter what we tried, we simply couldn’t get across to the sole manufacturer what the exact sole shape should look like. The wooden proto soles they sent us just weren’t right. The tricky thing was that we briefed the sole manufacturer with 2D drawings when the contours of this sole were very organic. Our last resort was the 'Johan has it'. That’s 'The department store of Moergestel and surroundings'. Johan really has everything: crockery, sweets, a post office, toys, books, dry cleaning, sandwich makers and... hobby articles. We bought a lump of clay at Johan’s and I started modelling. To my own surprise, I’m good at translating my thoughts into clay. Perhaps I should, when I'm faced with a problem, knead it out of me more often.... Anyway, the result of that kneading session is now under this shoe.... Should you buy it, please enjoy those shapes! Take a good look at the sole from below, there’s pure emotion in those shapes. The moral of the story is: if you get stuck, go to the 'Johan has it' in Moergestel."
